Complex
and the opposite of
I was going about doing my morning yoga the other day and nothing “fancy” was coming to me. I just sort of wanted to chill. And in that, I kept coming back to this notion that our yoga practice was never meant to be complicated. Our practice was always went to be a simple way to enter our body and settle all of the energy so that we are able to then sit and do the real work of meditation.
The asanas were never meant to be the end goal. The end goal was to be able to take our attention to one single pointed direction—the inner light within. And this is really what life looks like in many ways if you ask me.
Everything has become more complicated than it needs to be. We are doing a million things at one time, trying to keep up with the joneses, have several side hustles, and honestly are probably overthinking more things than we ought to be. Some of these things may be legit…there is no doubt about that, however, it does make me pause and wonder how did we get here?
